The SEO Intern at UniAthena will support the execution of search optimization strategies to improve organic visibility across search engines and emerging AI-driven discovery platforms. This role focuses on analysis, execution, and collaboration rather than CMS ownership or development work.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in executing SEO strategies to improve organic search visibility and keyword performance.
- Track and analyze keyword rankings, organic traffic, impressions, CTR, and engagement metrics.
- Conduct competitor analysis to identify SEO, content, and backlink opportunities.
- Support off-page SEO activities including ethical link-building, brand mentions, and digital PR submissions.
- Assist in content optimization by providing SEO recommendations (titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal linking).
- Collaborate with the content coordination team by sharing SEO insights and performance feedback.
- Monitor and report technical SEO issues such as broken links, crawl errors, and indexing concerns, and coordinate fixes with relevant teams.
- Support regional and global SEO initiatives by tracking keyword performance across target geographies.
- Contribute to performance reporting and insights using analytics and SEO tools.
- Stay updated with evolving SEO practices, including:
- GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) – visibility on AI-powered search and LLM responses
- AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) – optimizing content for direct answers and featured formats
- Assist in analysing UniAthena’s visibility and performance across emerging AI-driven discovery platforms.
Skills & Knowledge Required
- Basic understanding of SEO fundamentals (on-page, off-page, and technical SEO).
- Familiarity with SEO and analytics tools such as:
- Google Search Console
- Google Analytics
- SEMrush / Ahrefs (or similar)
- Understanding of keyword research and search intent.
- Basic awareness of HTML and CSS for SEO interpretation
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills for collaboration and reporting.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving SEO trends and state-of-the-art practices.
- Organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
